The guy originally tasked to revive WinCE at one point tried to persuade Gates to throw out everything and create a totally new OS for mobile devices. Gates said they'd already invested too much. Contrast that attitude to Jobs being told the plans for the Apple Store ready to go were all wrong and a rework to perfection would delay things for six-eight months. He screamed, then agreed that was best! Zune Mobile -- for this is what it looks and smells like -- will be the new Vista. Back to the future.
