Discovery is all about understanding the context of your needs. Apple won’t help me with a blog or even good reviews. They will add a filter indeed. a quality one. But that won t help me get to the Apps that are must have for me.

Hi Jean Louis (bonjour..)

you re touching the most senstive point of those new ecosystems. Discovery is a highly complex issue because it requires way more than just editorial work and a blog. The reason to that? Context.

One example: geogrpaphy. Apple is way behind in helping me find apps that are right for my city or even my neighbourhood.

With Appsfire.com (a french based company, backed by top european investors) we’re trying to solve that issue by leveraging the activity people generate with Apps. This is something a team of editor cannot compete with. For example we created the first live ranking based on sentiment and not download leveraging the activity on facebook and twitter > appsfire.com/apptrends

And more is coming.
